budget in plain english for side hustlers 👇
trading allowance going from £1,000 to £3,000
it starts 6 april 2027, not now
earn under £3k from side gigs/trading = no tax return needed for it
til april 2027 its still £1k tho
anyone just dodged a tax return? 👀
@Bobby_Seagull fuel duty cut hanging on till july is the one ill actually notice tbh. which of the 5 do you reckon makes the biggest difference for most people
@ValMThatcher not many tbh, selling your own old stuff for less than you paid isnt taxed anyway. the £3k allowance is more for the lot buying stuff to flip
@discotyler03 ah thats rough mate. stepchange and citizens advice are both free and can deal with the enforcement lot for you, honestly worth a ring tomorrow
@24palettes honestly the hardest bit for me was picking which tool to start in, not the actual building. you doing the tutorial in lovable or straight into cursor?
@robjeffecology yeah £13.21 x 35hrs is about £24k, rent eats half before you even look at food. made a lil budget planner for exactly this if its any use https://t.co/eByL64H6cM
@Fink_Money frozen thresholds are the sneaky one ngl, every payrise just drags more people into 40% without anyone announcing anything. anyone actually noticed it on their payslip yet?
@BenZaranko mad that a valuation from 1991 decides it tbh, loads of band E semis are worth less than band C flats now. reckon theyll ever actually do a revaluation
@InvestTortoise fair play for saying it tbh, going off what your house was worth in 1991 was always gonna be a bit random. epc or actual usage would make more sense surely?
@MoneyActuallyUK the 5p fuel duty cut sticking around is prob the only one most people will notice week to week tbh. which one you reckon gets people talking most?
@DividendDrip cash isa staying at £20k was the one i was waiting on ngl, proper thought it was getting chopped. you topping up the junior isa before april or sticking to monthly?
@kaitborsay the checker falling over on budget day is peak britain lol. sounds like its england only so far and paid from january so no mad rush. did you get on it in the end?
