So much talk about UK electricity prices (for good reason) but no mention at all that the only reason prices are so high is that we *burn* *fossil* *fuels*. This is about gas & oil. Wind & solar are cheaper & their cost hasn’t changed. We need to say this loudly & more often.
@glynhudson@electricfelix@rnvecharge Nice! Definitely would be an adventure. My wife is from Oradea, looks to be a couple rapid chargers there, so would be a decent place to base ourselves for a week or two.
The World Health Organization estimated that roughly 7 million premature deaths annually are linked to air pollution. A disproportionate amount of the people dying are black, thanks to environmental racism. Cute post tho.
@CircularEcology@EcoCraigJones the article you published the other day on embodied carbon of PV seems to have disappeared from your website? Seemed pretty groundbreaking - was hoping to dig into the full technical article. Any reason why it’s vanished? Cheers!
Confessions of an #ExtinctionRebellion 'extremist' THREAD
This time last year I wasn't fussed about climate change.
I learnt enough science at school to know about the greenhouse gas effect and understood the planet is warming.
I thought we were sorting it...
I recycled 🙅♀️
The biggest and worst news humanity has ever received - the collapse of life on Earth - was revealed by the #IPBES report yesterday. Only two UK newspapers (Guardian and Independent) carried it on their front pages. As for the rest ... you've guessed it. Thread/
I never imagined I'd end up attending a building society's AGM, but @EcologyBS are doing things differently.
The money you save with them literally helps build a more sustainable future.
IMO, that's something worth sitting in a marquee on a Saturday hearing about.
Our future was stolen from us every time you said that ‘the sky was the limit’, and that ‘you only live once’.

I'm afraid, Prime Minister, that giving the go ahead to a 3rd runway at Heathrow, going "all out for fracking", allowing new open-cast coal, scrapping zero-carbon homes and solar subsidies, banning on-shore wind, and failing to support tidal power, is not doing "what we can".
"But but but there aren't enough chargers to bother with electric cars yet" 🤔🙄
New charging hub in Milton Keynes. 9 rapid chargers all to myself. Nice work @BPChargemaster.
