Raising awareness of Adverse Childhood Experieces (ACES). Training adults working with vulnerable children to reverse the psychological damages of #aces#trauma
If you are looking for a book that will warm you up, this one may well make your blood boil. @lokiscottishrap has hit every nail squarely on the head. An absolute must for anyone who feels there is an intentional status quo of inequality in Britain.
I’ve had a front row seat to witness Kamala Harris be a champion for vulnerable children and families. She helped us start the Center for Youth Wellness and created the Bureau of Children’s Justice as CA Attorney General. I deeply believe she is the leader we need right now.
My first speech as a Member of Parliament. I talked about the need to reform our children’s social care system, the wonderful people of Whitehaven & Workington and the need grow our economy through boosting clean power, especially new nuclear.
@JohnSwinney looking after the most vulnerable in society is not only the right thing to do, but it's economically essential. You talk so much sense. Good luck.
@GillianKeegan If only there was an NHS dental service for children. The biggest reason for children's hospital admissions is tooth decay.
You are sounding more desperate by the day #ConservativeParty
Relationships are the key to overcoming #trauma. For many children the relationship they form with #teachers can in some case be literally life-saving. When. Teachers & #pastoral staff are leaving schools in droves and not being replaced, it's the children with #ACES who miss out
@Conservatives Let me get this right. You're planning on releasing rapists early from prison and replacing them with litter louts. Am I missing something here? Or are you missing something?

The murder rate in Rwanda is three times higher than in the UK. According to international data collated by the United Nations, 472 intentional homicides in 2020 — a rate of 3.59 per 100,000 of their population. The rate in England and Wales was 1.1.

Children in care are a comodity for fat cat companies.
Haven't they suffered enough?
Where is the compassion?
The sad irony is, that as a result, less money is spent on the interventions which will prevent other children going into care.

Loving the Diary of a CEO Podcast by @StevenBartlett
A few years behind, and only on episode 14 but such a thought provoking listen.
Today's thought - I should be more afraid of living, and not making the difference I want to, than of dying.
@drjohnjmarshall That's a really interesting angle, I wonder if the basic survival instinct kicks in and prevents disaster in the moment, but later in life when things are 'safer' the trauma kicks back.
