90% of your beautiful UI animations will be killed in dev meetings because they 'aren't essential to MVP.'
Most clients won't notice your perfectly aligned grids or golden ratios. The harsh reality is that sometimes 'done' beats 'perfect' in the real world of product design.
Picture a teaching assistant who has read the entire GES curriculum twice, never asks for a raise, and is done marking forty exam scripts before you've finished your first cup of tea. That's roughly what Jesi AI is trying to be for Ghanaian classrooms.
The platform officially launched as @jesi_ai 1.0 on June 30, after a year of testing with the people who'd actually have to live with it: hundreds of teachers and learners across Ghana.
It generates lesson plans aligned to the GES curriculum, builds quizzes and marking schemes in minutes, and flags students who are falling behind before it becomes a bigger problem.
For students, it offers curriculum-aligned lessons and an AI assistant for questions that come up outside class hours.
The numbers are already real before the official launch even happened: over 2,000 teachers and 500 schools engaged, with more than 10,000 students on the platform according to Node Eight, the venture studio behind it.
But the number that says the most isn't a number at all. During a training session for over 100 teachers and headmasters in Ho, an officer at the Ho Municipal Education Directorate, Amrago Richard, put it simply: teachers would save time preparing lesson notes and generating questions, and that time saved would go straight back to students. Not a press release line. A classroom administrator describing what the tool actually changed on the ground.
Ghana has no shortage of edtech pitches promising to fix education. What's rarer is a tool that shows up in a training hall in Ho and gets a straight answer about whether it worked.
What's the one part of a teacher's week you think AI should be handling first?
