The Northern Uganda Oil Millers Association earlier yesterday met with @newsUMA ahead of the 2026/27 budget, raising concerns over Uganda’s taxed locally produced cooking oil making it less competitive than imports.

They called for a waiver on VAT & excise duty for edible oil from local oilseeds to boost farmers, cut imports, and grow Uganda’s agro-industry.
