📸 @landoveal made a statement to lead Houston Christian to a comeback win, dunking everything in a dominant 2nd half performance to send HC to the 4A title game.

Veal finished with 6 dunks and also showed some pure shotmaking in the midrange. Scored 22 points to lead his team and also blocked several shots on the defensive end.

Midway through the 2nd quarter Greenhill led 21-7, but HC righted the ship and locked in defensively - reeling off a 33-9 run over the next quarter and a half to take control of the game.

@JosiahMcgowen4 was another bright spot for HC, dropping 19 points and showing some high level distribution off the dribble. Got to the FT line and was efficient with his touches.

@jaxsonthompson_ went out on his shield, going for 37 points even with all the extra attention HC committed to him. When Greenhill led early, it was all due to his scoring ability on the drive.

Thompson led all scorers with 34 points,📸 Eli Sims (2027) was dialed in as well hitting 4 threes & @Kameron_smith07 also reached double figures with several dunks in the win.

Jaxson Thompson Commits to Rice: What He Brings to the Owls

Rice basketball has secured a piece for its future with the commitment of 6’2” guard Jaxson Thompson from Greenhill School in Addison, Texas. Also a standout on the EYBL circuit with JL3 Elite, Thompson becomes the first pledge in the Owls’ 2026 recruiting class — and his game projects as a good fit in Houston.

Offensive Versatility
Thompson can score from deep, knock down mid-range jumpers, and finish effectively in the paint with floaters or strong drives. His quick first step allows him to attack the basket aggressively, drawing defenders and creating opportunities for teammates. This combination of perimeter shooting, mid-range ability, and finishing in traffic makes him difficult to guard.

Playmaking Ability
Thompson’s scoring ability directly enhances his playmaking. Defenders must respect his jumper and drives, opening passing lanes. When opponents collapse in the paint, he shows the vision and poise to find open teammates, whether cutting to the rim or spotting up on the perimeter. His scoring threat creates space and opportunities, making him both a primary scorer and an effective facilitator.

Defensive Tenacity
