UK's System Operator @neso_energy confirmed "NTS compression does not currently support the transport of gas to the high-demand parts of Scotland from the southern zones or from the zone’s more southerly terminals at Teesside & Barrow" meaning no UK fracked gas comes to Ireland!
Great breaking news!
Shannon LNG power station planning permission PAUSED in the Irish High Court on grounds that 3 gigawatts of gas-fired stations already have planning consent, breaching the 2 gigawatts government policy target. Well done @FIEIRELAND

The Stop Shannon LNG Coalition have hung a banner on the River Shannon and are leafleting at @RiverfestLmk to bring awareness to the dangerous fracked gas imports into terminal that is being planned for the Shannon Estuary 🥁

Over 140 groups call on @EamonRyan to halt his LNG plans and #KeepLNGBan!
Their open letter (https://t.co/XtYvfxOYnD) rejects Ryan's claim that environmental groups agreed with the LNG terminal he proposes to build, which is identical to the one proposed by #ShannonLNG seen here:
150 groups including impacted people sign letter to @EamonRyan asking to confirm he will honour policy of banning fracked gas imports via LNG terminal in Ireland.Supporters include @paulmurphy_TD@Farrell_Mairead@aliceeire Add your support. #KeepLNGBan https://t.co/FvAtPe1erS
Is this how you try to get planning permission in Ireland for the #ShannonLNG US fracked gas import terminal?
Aren't there words for getting €4.1 million "good faith" contributions from a planning applicant before they lodge their planning application?

More transgressions and blatant disregard for local people by Canadian #ReconAfrica. Neocolonial posturing par elegance. Shame on you. All your claims of playing by the rule-book are big fat lies.

“It is reported that one third of #Pakistan is now under water”
No, not science fiction, but a line from the evening news bulletin just now.

An insight here into the differing views in coalition over Shannon LNG, lobbying by parent company New Fortress Energy & how it argues our duty to Ukraine means we should buy its gas. https://t.co/io1vFKx2gI
We arrived at this position because of people like you lobbying for continuing to grow energy demand. You lobbied for Shannon LNG which are proposing to build 8 new data centres along with importing fracked gas.
1/4 'Frack Off LNG!' Mass trespass by 150 #climate activists of #Shannon LNG #fracked gas terminal site a 'show of strength and a warning' to @new_fortress Energy & Irish govt that this climate-wrecking project will be fiercely resisted. Press release: https://t.co/qAh0554UTn
I’m not sure how understood it is that #ShannonLNG would mean importing gas from fracking in the US - fracking involves huge additional releases of methane through leakages as well as poisoning water supplies in the areas the fracking takes place.
The #ShannonLNG project will be reliant on fracked gas - banned in Ireland due to the impact on farming, health and environment - you can learn more in this video and through the link for further research.
“We are fighting for our lives” says Ray Kemble, ex-gas worker from Pennsylvania, whose well water was poisoned by #fracking in the area from where gas for #ShannonLNG would come. In this clip he describes the public health disaster in his community, incl a surge in cancer cases.
No response from @LeoVaradkar office in relation to meeting with New Fortress Energy Wes Edens. Will minutes of meeting be public?Following comments by @MichealMartinTD yesterday on LNG there are worrying noises coming from gov. @EamonRyan#ClimateEmergency https://t.co/HlEzrniF64
