Letters from Rameses (LFR) is a community-driven volunteer opportunity that allows Carolina students to write encouraging letters to young hospital patients. The organization's summer director, Aria Merrill ‘28, discusses how LFR makes an impact:

“You can turn your typical daily winddown, say, watching a couple episodes of TV when you get home from classes, into volunteer time by pulling out a pen and paper and doodling up a letter for the kids.”

Morehead was the first planetarium in the South and once served as a training site for astronauts. It's also the perfect place to learn about the summer sky.
