@chelseadukes13 This is a very interesting exhibit. With the unprecented times, many artists are changing their style and adapting to this pandemic. Each piece you chose works well in the exhibit. I wonder if exhibits like this will exist when the world reopens? #ARTH387
@ThomasW24483853 Thomas - you did a great job and choosing artworks that relate to black empowerment. “Attica” was my favorite piece of the exhibit and really captures the entire goal behind the exhibit through its use of raised black fists #ARTH387
@Cutter37549761 Cutter - really cool exhibit. I enjoyed understanding how your chosen space and art display various approaches to depict black power and resilience. The artwork chose relates and works well #ARTH387
TIMELINE. An interesting combination of work that walks the audience through the history of African Americans. Hopefully, you were able to see the jarring struggles slaves faced and how African Americans have demonstrated and crafted beauty through continued struggles #ARTH387
Title: TIMELINE
For the exhibit, I picture a larger space, divided into rooms, allowing the participants to feel as if they’re moving through a walking timeline. The goal is to acknowledge the somber, dark history of African Americans and end by providing hope #ARTH387
With the somber beginning to the exhibit, I felt it was important to remind the audience of African American beauty. Specifically these pieces demonstrate beauty through hair and sheer nudity. The mediums chosen are large canvas which brings more power #ARTH387
