Skills are unlocking opportunities for Zimbabwe’s youth.
Across the South-East Lowveld, #ZRBF2 is equipping young people with practical skills in climate-smart agriculture, confectionery, welding and entrepreneurship.
Already, 240 young people have benefited from these skills and entrepreneurship development initiatives, with plans to scale up the programme. More than 1,000 additional youth have been identified for similar opportunities, expanding pathways to employment creation, enterprise and resilience.
Today, marks the end of the 1 week high-level monitoring mission to Zimbabwe’s South-East Lowveld under ZRBF II.
Together with the @MoLAFWRD_Zim, the @euinzim, @GovIE, @UNDPZimbabwe, @mercycorps & RECLAIM Consortium led by CARE Zimbabwe, were witnessing how communities are building resilience to climate change, strengthening food security and creating sustainable livelihoods.
Young people are key to the future of agriculture. 🌱 Their participation in irrigation schemes drives innovation, boosts productivity, creates jobs, and strengthens climate resilience. Investing in youth today means securing sustainable food systems and thriving rural communities for tomorrow. @theGCF #ClimateAction #FoodSecurity #Irrigation

For years, growing sesame in Mbire was characterized by uncertainty. Farmers invested in every season without knowing whether buyers would come or whether the prices offered would justify their hard work.
For smallholder farmers like Takesure Hove, that uncertainty changed with support from the @ZRBFZIM project, which connected farmers to reliable buyers, including SesAfrika.
Today, sesame farming is becoming a pathway to more secure incomes and greater resilience. @euinzim@GovIE@fpc_online@FAOZimbabwe@MoLAFWRD_Zim@CAREZimbabwe@DanChurchAidZW@mercycorps
