Skills are unlocking opportunities for Zimbabwe’s youth.
Across the South-East Lowveld, #ZRBF2 is equipping young people with practical skills in climate-smart agriculture, confectionery, welding and entrepreneurship.
Already, 240 young people have benefited from these skills and entrepreneurship development initiatives, with plans to scale up the programme. More than 1,000 additional youth have been identified for similar opportunities, expanding pathways to employment creation, enterprise and resilience.

Over the past days, @euinzim visited #ZRBF2 resilience initiatives across #Mbire, #Hurungwe and #Kariba districts, at the heart of the Mid-Zambezi Valley landscape. Together with our partners, we saw how communities are strengthening their livelihoods through village business units, NTFP agri-processing hub, floating fish cages🐟 and cold chain facilities, tree nurseries for forest restoration, as well as apiculture🐝 and mushroom-growing🍄 businesses.
These investments reflect the landscape approach guiding our cooperation. Instead of isolated actions, the 🇪🇺EU and #TeamEurope work with communities, authorities and NGOs to build resilience across entire socio-ecological systems—linking climate-smart agriculture, fisheries, forest restoration and nature-based businesses to create sustainable livelihood opportunities.
The mission comes at a key moment, as new 🇪🇺EU #grants on agribusiness and natural resource management are about to be signed, reinforcing and scaling up the resilience pathways initiated under ZRBF2. These upcoming actions will further strengthen value-chain development, natural resources management and ecosystem restoration as well as local economies in Zimbabwe’s priority landscapes.
What we witnessed confirms that investing in people, landscapes and strong partnerships delivers tangible results. Collaboration between communities, the Government of Zimbabwe and their local authorities, @UNDPZimbabwe, @FAOZimbabwe , @DanChurchAidZW (DCA), Bio-Innovation Zimbabwe (BIZ), @fpc_online (FPC), @MyTreesTrust, Matusadona Conservation Trust (MCT), Wildlife Conservation Action (WCA) and other actors continues to drive progress toward climate-resilient rural livelihoods.
