Woman of the Hour starring Anna Kendrick is really good. Although it's chiefly about a serial killer that made it onto a dating show in the 70s (based on a true story), the underlying commentary on how women were/are viewed as objects by psychos and "good guys" is so poignant.

Definitely one of the best depictions of the gender dynamic when it comes to GBV, because its just so obvious what's going on, but so few men are willing to see it. There is one guy who tries to warn Anna's character, and another who seemingly picks up on the danger.

I'm watching Joy Ride (2001) and it was filmed pre-Fast and the Furious (althought released later). Obviously seeing a young Paul Walker is a little weird, but I kinda loved that he was using a physical paper map to navigate to Salt Lake City. Very vintage.

I watched Bring It On the other day, and today I'm watching Civil War. Kristen Dunst really took her career in such an interesting direction. She truly is one of the greatest actresses of her generation, but seldom gets noted for it.

Her mother was the first victim, her boyfriend was the first killer, her brother initiated everything, her cousin rebooted it all. Her name/image are intrinsically connected to the franchise.

Sidney is the heart and soul of this franchise. If you want to root for a killer, go watch Friday the 13th. Scream is and has always been about Sidney. Even when she wasn't in the movie, she was central to its story. And your ageism is gross.
