Key takeaways:
🔑Leadership: solutions require strong national ownership and political leadership, as stressed by HE Ambassador Cecilia Adeng @AmbAdeng of South Sudan;
🔑Inclusion: those directly affected need to be agents of change in defining and implementing solutions, as recalled by Valeriia Vershynina of Ukraine;
🔑Partnerships: solutions require coordinated financing and action across the humanitarian, peace and development sectors, as echoed by Maria Dimitriadou of the @WorldBankGroup.
Behind the numbers are millions of individuals and families striving to rebuild their lives with dignity. @bjw_williams had the opportunity of hearing some of their stories and hopes during his visit to South Sudan in 2024, with partners of the Peacebuilding Fund.
Thank you @UNmigration and @Refugees for organizing, and to our co-hosts, South Sudan and @NorwayUN for their support.

Last week, @bjw_williams, Chief of the Peacebuilding Fund (PBF) had the privilege of joining colleagues and partners during #PeacebuildingWeek for a timely discussion on ‘Advancing solutions through Peacebuilding: Delivering Coherent, Government-Led Responses to Internal Displacement’.
Forced displacement is one of the most damaging human effects of conflict globally. Durable solutions are not only humanitarian outcomes. They are inherently peacebuilding outcomes.
#PeacebuildingWeek is not about resolutions, workshops or slogans. It is about what we can do, working together, to make a real difference in the lives of people living under the threat of violence and conflict.

.@peacedirect convened a discussion on 3 connected themes: impact, financing & partnerships for locally led peacebuilding. The message was clear: keep working w/ local & national civil society, & strengthen partnerships to measure impact. When peacebuilding is locally led & nationally owned, its results last. #PeacebuildingWeek
