Today, I hosted the leadership of Wapi Pay, a Kenyan-founded fintech that has evolved from cross-border payments into a broader digital economy platform with a growing presence across Africa and Asia.
Our discussions focused on practical opportunities that can deliver tangible benefits for Kenyans, including reducing the cost of cross-border and diaspora payments, opening Chinese markets to Kenyan exports, creatives and SMEs through trade and content partnerships, and expanding access to Artificial Intelligence and digital skills for our young people so that they become creators and builders of technology, not merely consumers.
We also explored opportunities within the creator economy to showcase Kenyaโs culture, tourism and talent to global audiences, as well as green mobility and digital infrastructure initiatives that can create jobs and spur innovation.
As we embrace these opportunities, the Government remains committed to ensuring that innovation goes hand in hand with strong safeguards protecting children online, promoting responsible content, and ensuring compliance with Kenyaโs laws and regulatory frameworks.
Under the Digital Superhighway agenda, we will continue to position Kenya as the regionโs hub for digital innovation and the digital economy, while fostering partnerships that deliver real value, jobs, skills and dignity for our people.
The University of Nairobi would like to join the other stakeholders in congratulating Prof. Isabella Njeri , in her achievement as the First Female Professor in Quantity Surveying in Kenya in 2026.

Military sport continues to strengthen ties among armed forces across the world, bringing together service personnel through competition, discipline, and mutual respect. Beyond the pursuit of medals, it offers a platform where nations build friendships, share experiences, and showcase excellence through sport.
It is against this backdrop that Ulinzi Warriors, the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) basketball team, will carry the countryโs hopes to the 54th International Military Sports Council (CISM) World Military Basketball Championship scheduled for 27 June to 7 July 2026 in Bourges, France.

Civil-Military Cooperation (CIMIC) activities continue to have a positive impact within the Boni Enclave, particularly through engagements in schools that promote the welfare, education, and well-being of the children. This was evident at Kauthara Primary School in Lamu during the commemoration of the Day of the African Child.
Held under the theme, โEnsuring universal access to water, sanitation and hygiene for every child in Africa,โ the activity brought out the importance of creating a healthy and conducive learning environment for every child.

Ensuring the safety of drivers and vehicles is therefore essential not only for protecting lives but also for maintaining operational effectiveness, preserving valuable assets and sustaining mission readiness.
In line with this commitment, the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) conducted a regional road safety seminar aimed at strengthening driver discipline, reducing road accidents and enhancing road safety standards across its transport fleet.
