Naruto: Storm Generations V2 | Launch Trailer
Out now:
• 60 FPS
• New tech and balance changes
• Original gameplay option
• Hybrid netcode (rollback + delay; full rollback in development)
Players report near-offline matches from North America to the Middle East.
@Conmystro@MrE_Gaming1 Not anymore, we dropped a big performance patch yesterday that makes the framerate more consistent.
They're moreso suggestions now than forced.
UNSG V2 Patch 3.1 + Official Community Tournament
Patch 3.1 is now available, with performance work, spectator mode improvements, character adjustments and online fixes.
WEBSITE LINKING
Connect your account to the website through the launcher so your matches can be recorded.
First, register or sign in on the website with Discord.
Then open the launcher and select Connect Website. Completed sets appear in your match history and contribute to character data.
Supported rated sets can update Elo and XP when both players’ reported results agree.

PERFORMANCE
The renderer now does less repeated work preparing materials. In one repeatable offline test with heavy support use, the lowest measured frame rate rose from about 34 to about 50 FPS. These are results from specific test setups, not a guarantee of the same improvement on every computer or map.
The attached stage guide reflects our testing before this performance work. It is a suggestion rather than a forced map order, since the improvements may make every stage viable. Please still communicate with your opponent if a particular stage performs poorly for either player.
SPECTATOR MODE
Spectating is now available in the online hub which allows them to stay connected through Rematch and Character Select. The spectator HUD shows both fighters’ website profile names, while the lobby shows the spectator count. Room search also defaults to compatible rooms instead of filtering for open slots only.
CHARACTER AND COMBAT CHANGES
PTS Gaara’s normal jutsu damage is reduced by 20%; awakened jutsu damage is reduced by 50% instead, and the reductions do not stack. His support pellet now appears one second later. Awakenings last five real seconds longer, with equivalent timing at 30 and 60 FPS.
Onoki support startup is 10% longer and its rock count is reduced from five to four. Hidan support startup is 10% longer. Older Kiba’s main jutsu damage is reduced by 20%. Itachi’s walking clone has longer startup and a shorter active lifetime.
Other changes include adjustments to older Neji’s Rotation, PTS Neji’s final tilt hit, and tilt startup for older Naruto and Massive Rasengan Barrage Naruto. Fixes address specific combo recovery issues for WSRS/NTR Naruto and Susanoo Sasuke, plus a PTS Shikamaru Balance bomb-kunai interaction with withdrawing Attack supports.
Airborne chakra kunai for Kirin/True Spear and Taka Sasuke no longer gain repeatable upward momentum, and their normal and chakra shuriken travel more slowly. Older Sakura and Tsunade recover sooner from aerial jutsu, with Sakura also overshooting nearby opponents less.
MECHANICS AND LAUNCHER
V2 Attack Up and Defense Down effects from the relevant items and Karin effects are reduced; other status effects and durations are unchanged. Guard support Dash Cut has longer recovery when its body is hit, and pressing Jump again during Ninja Move landing can now jump.
The launcher adds website account linking and a direct way to open match history. Keyboard controls include Clear all, and clearing a binding leaves it inactive while controller input continues to work. The Online Battle hover text and an internal debug shortcut were also corrected.

It's hard nerfed! Dash cut being banned in competitive was a result of a bug that surfaced in UNS4 that allowed for infinite recovery on the support type.
That bug carried over to UNSC, but never existed in UNSG; furthermore, the new mechanics make it a lot easier to get around (not that it was egregiously broken without the bug in the first place).
UNSG V2 Patch 2.3 + Cross-Region Gameplay
Patch 2.3 is now available, bringing V2 balance adjustments, fixes to specific combat interactions, and updated launcher functionality.
Cross-region gameplay footage is attached, featuring developer Vox against Zuiii and showcasing an excellent connection in their session.
• V2 character balance
Removed Kabuto’s jutsu slowdown and reduced Deidara’s tracking by 20%. Balanced’s Kankuro nerfs, older Sakura tilt startup and Sasori grab startup timing now also apply to V2.
• Combat fixes
Addressed Hashirama’s rear-reaching down-combo hit, older Hinata’s jutsu bug at 60 FPS and older Shikamaru’s grab interaction with Masked Man support.
• Faster PTS Shikamaru cover fire
Balance-support throws release in 5 frames instead of 9, with equivalent 30/60 FPS timing and unchanged projectile speed. Explosive chakra kunai no longer trigger Strikeback supports.
• Online and launcher
Background controller input, diagnostic exports and disconnect audio also receive improvements.
Spectating and Linux support coming in the next patch.
Thank you for continuing to play, test and report issues.
Update through “Check for updates” in the launcher.

First of all, thank you all for the incredible support, it's truly beautiful to see the amount of attention that an old but dear game can create💜
Firstly, UNSG V2 Patch 2.1 is officially available!
Part 1 of the beginner’s guide is also attached in the post. The complete guide will be on YouTube, and we'll share Part 2 onward alongside future posts.
For clarity, this project is a recompilation of the Xbox 360 version of Generations using Rexglue and a Xenia-derived runtime. After years of playing competitively at 30 FPS, we wanted to help more people enjoy it with higher frame rates and better online play.
Our intended hybrid approach combines input delay with rollback corrections for late inputs, with limited frames of rollback available currently for implementation (Xenia helped with this due to its native capacity to save snapshots of RAM but it's not optimal).
Broader rollback remains under development: restoring the game and replaying frames reliably has proven to have significant performance costs on this game.
We wholeheartedly acknowledge that online is imperfect. Demanding stages and effects can cause slowdowns, while unstable connections, including Wi-Fi, can introduce frame drops.
Nevertheless, cross-region reports from players with stable performance and connections have been encouraging.
Online now requires Native/1× resolution after higher settings caused slowdown in testing. Check that the game uses your dedicated GPU where available, and consider Ethernet for a more stable connection.
For now, suggested stages include:
• Chunin Exams Preliminaries
• Uchiha Hideout
• Hidden Rain Village Upper
• Madara’s Hideout
Remember, the launcher offers six versions for those looking for the regular experience:
• Base (Vanilla): 30 or 60 FPS
• Balanced: 30 or 60 FPS
• V2: 30 or 60 FPS
Balanced adjusts the original game’s balance without V2’s mechanical changes. The beginner’s guide will explain V2’s expanded mechanics and counterplay, with balancing continuing through community feedback.
Tournament spectator support, further rollback work, a major performance update, and Linux followed by macOS support are planned. Our first tournament is targeted for next weekend, with performance improvements coming as they are ready.
Please also create a website profile and register your matches. Alongside rankings, these results populate character statistics and help us identify what may be too strong or too weak.
Thank you for your patience and support. We simply want people to enjoy this game and relive those memories under better conditions.

UNSG V2 Patch 2.2 + Beginner’s Guide Part 2
Patch 2.2 focuses on the reported black-screen issue and giving players more room to respond in V2 combat.
We'll also be sharing Part 2 of the beginner’s guide alongside the release.
• Black-screen fix
Corrected the reported black screen after loading while audio continued, other startup issues may still need investigation.
• First-hit loop nerf in V2
After a blocked first hit into Ninja Move, the first-hit attack cannot restart until blockstun ends. No extra delay; on-hit routes remain unchanged. Escape opportunities depend on the situation.
• Wider chakra-dash clashes in V2
2.2× the original separation setting gives players more space afterward.
• Increased air-combo substitution distance in V2
1.5× the original requested separation gives more room to react, including first-hit substitutions. This specifically concerns air-combo hits.
The patch also includes mode-specific character adjustments, private rooms, room search, FPS/ping/input-delay displays, keyboard bindings and diagnostic log export.
Rematch and long-session slowdown remain unresolved. Spectating and tournament features are deferred.
Part 2 continues our look at V2’s mechanics and counterplay. Thank you to everyone whose reports helped identify and verify these fixes. 💜
