@NorthwesternMN History & Political Science students celebrated return to classes with annual Labor Day Game Night/BBQ. Supported by root beer, Roman sweet dates & burgers, we played multiple rounds of the 4,000-year old Sumerian Game of Ur. Father Abraham would have been proud!

We were proud to host Anders Folk, First Assistant U.S. Attorney for MN, for Constitution Day yesterday. Here at @NorthwesternMN, students have the opportunity to study the development of constitutions across history, from Athens the present.
The @nortwesternmn History Dept. held its Fall Party with a BBQ, bonfire & S'mores on Saturday night. It was a good time of fellowship & rebuilding friendships. Congrats to W., (Watermelon Seed Spitting Contest winner) & the group Deus vult (trivia contest winner).
Faculty & students from the @northwesternmn History Dept enjoyed their visit with the New Brighton Historical Society on Sat. They learned about local subjects ranging from early Dakota villages, to the 1940's ammo plant, to the famous 1960's era 'Piston Pilots,' & more.
In commemoration of #WorldRefugeeWeek, we remember those Christian & Yezidi communities made refugees under the Islamic State in Iraq. In our classes @NorthwesternMN, students are able to learn more about the difficulties facing these ancient communities in today’s Middle East.
Students traveled with Dr. Seevers to Israel to an archaeological dig where he uncovered an artifact that illustrates life in Israel at the time of Judges and helped in the team’s overall effort to confirm the historicity of the book of Joshua.
