The Microbiome Treatment Centre (MTC) is the first MHRA licensed facility within the UK to provide Faecal Microbiota Transplants (FMT) for clinical trials and for the treatment of patients throughout the UK with recurrent and refractory Clostridium difficile infection.

It’s been a busy week in the MTC, with 11 treatments going out in the last 3 days alone! As always we can’t get these treatments to patients all over the country without the support of the amazing volunteer blood bike riders. Todays smiling trio:

Initially upper GI FMT treatment was requested for today. Pt reassessed-lower GI required instead! Queue @Staffsbloodbike to the rescue who were able to assign another rider within an hour! Thank you Griff&Dave. Both doing their first FMT deliveries today. #CDI #FMT @unibirm_MDS
