Need to get back to this mentality @TerpsBaseball . Can not just talk it and wish it to happen it -- starts at the top with true leadership that inspires greatness!

Rob has always been a real one. No surprises at his success at @TerpsBaseball and now @AlabamaBSB
Yes, I agree it happens to select players that qualify. Those are exceptions and not the rule. Of the 20+ leaving UMD maybe 2-3, maybe 4 are SEC level (all 34 on an SEC are not making get paid big). Now, while they won't all get a big bag of cash they most definitely will be full scholarship. I dont even think UMD has released how many scholarships they have this year. I know they are not doing 34 and last year was still 11.7, I believe.
You have a reading comprehension problem. Damn near every post you have written across multiple posts blame it on NIL. My post(s) are saying there is a larger problem with the way the coaching staff coaches. I have no issues w a kid leaving for any reason whether it is money, playing time, development, level etc. My point is 20+ kids aren't leaving bc of NIL. They are leaving for a better situation bc the one they are in sucks.
@TerpRecruiting It doesn't hurt the argument it makes it bc minus 2 or 3 of them --none of them are going to get paid. Most will step down or lateral but they will look for a program that has the qualties they value in terms of development, culture, and coaching.
@nonsenseballer@TerpRecruiting You're 100% correct. Their overall offensive stats are seriously inflated based on mid week dominance and when they were up against 3rd pitcher or deeper in depth chart on weekends. They struggled against the better typically 1 and 2 starter in a series.
Why are injuries happening? Because athletes want to chase the opportunity--that opportunity comes from velocity. The question is better asked, "is the risk worth the reward?"...well, that's an individual question; however, most will tell you getting 'x' number of years as D1 athlete or getting drafted is worth throwing "out of preference" to achieve those goals and the injury that "may" occur. The issue as I've followed your posts on Motor Preferences and read Swopes book is that to be in preference does not necessarily mean greater velocity and can actually translate to lower velocity and I imagine potentially accuracy issues from the tweaks in mechanics (depending on stage of career where mechanical changes are made). However, the cookie cutter programs have shown their instructions work in generating greater velocity which is evident from the rise in velocity-opportunity cost.
@MD_BaseballNews@radionoble The question to ask, is why? Why have none of the pitchers gotten better year after year...development/coaching is not there? As noted, wasn't opportunity...
And we need offensive support against good P4 pitching. Wonder why they are 8-3 on mid-week and win more on Sunday? Its bc they are facing lower tier pitching. The team struggles against top pitching. Yes pitching needs to be better but lack of run support and fielding miscues/errors kills a pitching staff especially a struggling pitching staff.
That was a very diplomatic answer--but yes a good hitting coach. But sucks at being a leader (head coach). "Transition" hasn't gone well as Swope still doesn't talk to the pitchers. Imagine being a head coach and not talking too or being a leader to half the team. Explains why the last 3 seasons have gone exactly the way they have.
For whatever reason that has been nearly every start-i have his ERA well under 3 just removing errors or horrible defensive miscues. Not even accounting for the fewer pitches thrown and unknowns that come from not having to recover extra outs. The defense has been the biggest let down this season, IMO.
This is what I've been waiting to see. Kid is 10 months post TJ-looking at his outings this year he came back early for @TerpsBaseball to be ready for B1G play. He hadn't competed for 20 months. Getting it figured out a little more each week. FB has been up to 95. Stock will continue to rise.
Liked what I saw from Evan Smith (lhp, @TerpsBaseball) today. Best start of the year for the RS Soph. and it came against #12 USC. Real feel for CH. Getting 53.8% whiff on that pitch in '26 (97th percentile).
