NPR: "Now you've called for repealing women's right to vote, which is protected by the 19th Amendment. Why?"

DOUG WILSON: "Because it's a good idea." [Laughs]

NPR: "A lot of women wouldn't agree."

WILSON: "This is not an XX-XY chromosome issue. I don't want women voting as individuals, because I don't want men voting as individuals. What I envision is a system that we have practiced in our church here for four decades, and that is household voting."

WILSON: "When we hold a church election for an elder, about 7% of the votes are cast by women, because we have a number of women who are heads of their households."

"When a young man, let's say a college student, moves to Moscow and he's 19 years old... he's a non-voting member, because he's not a household."

NPR: "But with the concept of headship within your church, which is households led by men…"

WILSON: "When there's a man."

NPR: "When there's a man. That would mean the vote would ultimately be decided by the head of the household."

WILSON: "The vote would be cast by the head of the household."

NPR: "By the head of the household, which would typically be the man."

WILSON: "And when it isn't… in our church we have a number of households headed by women, and when they head the household, they vote. So it's the household that votes."

I led a similar path, changed careers and moved mid 30s and it was the best decision I made. Bridge job until I landed a lucrative one. One step I would add is to seek out and volunteer for unsexy but complex programs at work. It's a cheat code to recognition as those types are a dime a dozen but gives you a ton of visibility. It's how I 100x my income by being recognized and offered a Sr position.

Greg Abbott, along with House Republicans, have made Texas an impossible place to buy a home. Sky high interest rates plus highest property taxes in the country are pricing out first time home buyers and locking in growing families from expanding into larger homes. In Dallas, a 1M appraised home is ~20k a year in property taxes FOREVER and rising.

@JoeTalkShow Abbott has promised tax reform for years and not done anything, I don't have hope he'll do anything ever. For reference, if you have a 1M home in Dallas, the taxes are over 20k per year.

@Devon_Eriksen_ I agree with you, as a Father of 3 I experience happiness often. Teaching my kids a new skill, surprising them with a gift (bought them doughnuts yesterday as a breakfast surprise), finishing a tough workout, solving a tough problem at work or around the house. I'm happy a lot.
