Last week, GMM Agents apprehended a 33-year-old citizen of Jamaica. He entered the U.S. illegally and was encountered walking southbound on Highway 61 after he failed to stop at the Pigeon River Port of Entry and abandoned his vehicle. He is being processed for being illegally present in the U.S. and will be removed to Jamaica. The collaborative effort by CBP officers, USBP agents, and Canadian partners led to the successful outcome of this incident. #USBP #CBP
On May 26th, GFN Agents arrested five Ecuadorian nationals near Grand Forks, ND following a vehicle stop. When encountered, four of the individuals attempted to flee but were apprehended after a brief foot pursuit. The vehicle was seized and all subjects were processed for being illegally present in the U.S.; they will be held in custody pending removal proceedings. Pembina Station kicked off its Citizens Academy last week; including hands-on activities such as mock traffic stops, handcuffing drills, less-lethal device familiarization, and use of force scenarios. Over the next five weeks, participants will gain a deeper understanding of Border Patrol operations and how they support our Border Security mission.

On March 7th, Leonel Eduardo Velasquez-Lastra, an illegal alien, was arrested for DUI by The Kildeer Police Department and taken into custody by HSI and USBP Agents. In his possession was a firearm and ammunition. He will be prosecuted for 922(g)(5), Alien in Possession of a Firearm/Ammunition and awaits removal proceedings.
