Happening Now! South LA residents are discussing the need for strong tenant protections+preservation of affordable housing at a town hall hosted by the USC Forward Coalition!
S. LA needs more housing, but current residents also need safeguards against displacement+harassment!
V is for Victory! USC Shuttle Drivers voted to go union and join SEIU Local 721.
This historic win puts them in the driver’s seat and will give them the ability to win fair pay, better benefits, and a voice on the job at L.A’s largest private employer.
Breaking! SEIU 721 represented members at @LAHomeless are marching to speak to LAHSA management to demand a fair contract. They know their worth, LAHSA value their work!
Breaking! We’re standing in solidarity with the @USC Residential Assistants (RAs) who are on strike! We support them in their fight for a voice on the job, fair compensation, and amnesty for all RAs from collection holds.
We thank our @USCForward partners & the Lincoln Heights and Highland Park NC for their ongoing support to hold @USC accountable to the harm that they create by ignoring local residents.
After almost 9 months of challenging the @USC Hyatt house devmt, the LA City PLUM committee once again ignored the voices of residents today. 1st, they limited public comment on 14 items to 20 minutes, thus continuing to uphold exclusionary practices in the planning process.
While these talks are a step forward, we demand that USC continue to meet with us to support community vision for our neighborhoods instead of development that harms us through increased policing and displacement. #CD14 will mediate these ongoing talks.
@EastsideLEADS & @USCForward have been organizing with community members for years to ensure @USC is a good neighbor. We met with @kdeleon team and usc to discuss our priorities for the #hyatthouse in Boyle Heights. Our 4 priorities are listed & we need these talks to continue!
