I caught up with Kobe on his way out of the Coliseum. He was wearing a USC jacket and rooting for the Trojans. He has adopted USC as his school. He was with his wife Vanessa and daughters Natalia and Gianna. Who knows, maybe he could be a USC dad in the not too distant future.
Eric Musselman was asked about the turnout for USC’s opener against Chattanooga, and included in part of his answer:
“Despite what Arkansas thinks, the first couple games we had a half empty building.”
FULL QUOTE:
“We want it to be better. You know, I need to do a better job - I haven’t been to frats and I gotta get out more. Probably going to be more active on social media. I’ve been pretty passive - and it’s collective, it’s our whole department. We want - there’s an NBA game tonight, another school played tonight, and to me, there’s competition.
“We can control the people that came tonight deciding if they want to come back. And that’s what I told the team even during the huddle, like, ‘We’ve gotta have more fun.’ Like, ‘People have to read your body language,’ and they were having fun, but we’ve gotta continue to build on that. There was no preconceived notions that it was going to be easy in this market.
“We have to win and play a decent style of play, and then you’ve got to play super hard. We talk about that all the time. We’re in a market where there’s a lot of options. If we have people come tonight and they don’t want to come back, that’s on us, that’s not on them.
“Despite what Arkansas thinks, the first couple games we had a half empty building…”

@iammsuzy I worked with an o-lineman who played with you at USC. Once he told me there’s a lot of politics involved with selecting the starting QB at USC stating it’s not 100% the head coaches decision. Is that still the case under LR?
