🎉 On June 1, 2017, the governors of Washington, New York, & California launched the U.S. Climate Alliance. 9 years later, 24 member states & territories are sustaining America’s fight against climate change.
Today, we’re celebrating 9 years with 9 of our favorite milestones.
We fought hard to secure Wisconsin's funding through the federal NEVI program to build the 21st-century EV charging infrastructure Wisconsin needs and deserves, and we're thrilled the next round of funding is available now!

While federal EV tax credits have ended, Colorado is leading the way with state incentives that make electric vehicles more affordable for working families. From rebates on new and used EVs to helping lower-income Coloradans trade in older gas vehicles, Colorado is expanding cleaner transportation options while helping residents save money on fuel and maintenance over time.
In 2024, when SEPTA riders were threatened with massive fare increases and devastating service cuts, I stepped in and redirected $153M to keep the system running and fares affordable. And last year, when SEPTA needed urgent safety upgrades, I authorized $219.9M for emergency repairs to make sure Pennsylvanians who rely on SEPTA every day could do so safely.
These actions have bought us time, but Democrats and Republicans MUST come to the table and fund a long-term solution for mass transit.
Like you, I’m extremely frustrated it’s not done yet.
That's why my latest budget once again calls for sustainable, recurring funding for mass transit. Let’s get it done.

Congratulations to the Forest County Potawatomi on the first Tribal EV charging station in Wisconsin!
We are thrilled to see the WEVI program continue to support 21st-century infrastructure and move us toward the sustainable future our state deserves.

Air pollution is a major health problem, but what actually helps clean our air?
Actions at the state level to advance nature-based solutions, environmental justice, clean transportation, & more are crucial to cleaning the air we all breathe.
I was proud to sign a new law to increase housing near transit. In Colorado we expanding access to housing that Coloradans can afford live where they want to live in the communities we love and making it easier and more convenient to get where we want to go. Investments into transportation and housing go hand-in-hand. This new law builds on our progress to unlock an affordable, livable, sustainable Colorado.
New Haven has long been a hub of innovation 🔬
At the Yale Innovation Summit, I met with founders and investors shaping the future of biotech, climate, health, and tech and discussed how Connecticut can help startups grow and stay here in our state.
I was proud to sign this bill today in Fort Collins, which clears the way for the next phase of Front Range Passenger Rail! The train, called the Colorado Connector (CoCo), will make it easier and more affordable for Coloradans to get around by 2029, with less traffic, less pollution, and more time and money saved.
We're deploying all available resources to battle active wildfires across California, including more than 2,800 personnel, responders, and equipment.
We'll be experiencing hotter, windier weather this peak fire season, so stay vigilant, review emergency plans, and stay safe.
Coloradans and visitors alike rely on and deserve affordable, reliable, convenient transportation to get where we want to go, and that starts with more accountability and transparency, especially in our largest metro area. That’s why today I signed SB26-150, which takes needed action to modernize RTD and make it better, to deliver stronger transportation options that save people money and get Coloradans where we are going.
1️⃣ year ago, states in our coalition joined forces to sustain America’s transition to cleaner & more affordable cars.

Colorado is proud to partner on a bipartisan basis with states across the region for cheaper, cleaner energy. By working together to expand geothermal energy, we can create good-paying jobs, strengthen energy independence, and continue building a more sustainable future for Colorado and the Mountain West.

Easing restrictions on “super pollutants” will do nothing but jeopardize our work to fight the climate crisis.
Families need real, meaningful solutions to rising costs. Period.

While Trump and the Republican-led Congress are abandoning our leadership on addressing the climate crisis, Washington state is moving forward. We just launched the Washington Zero-Emission Incentive Program to help businesses switch to electric large vehicles. As your Governor, I will continue to look for ways to fight climate change for future generations. https://t.co/rIzELJfEOA
“While the federal government has been blocking climate action, some U.S. cities and states and even neighborhoods have been going in the opposite direction.”

Illinois has a storied tradition as a manufacturing powerhouse, and we are thrilled Intermountain Electronics chose to expand in Centralia.
The company’s expansion will advance our clean energy production, create new jobs, and support Southern Illinois communities.
