Great visit with leadership at the National Bio and Agro-Defense Facility (NBAF) in Manhattan, Kansas. Special thanks to our USDA OIG auditors for their work on a series of reports and recommendations on USDA’s stand-up of the only large animal bio-safety level 4 facility in the U.S. When fully operational, NBAF will allow crucial research on microbes and biological agents rated as “dangerous” to protect the public against animal diseases that are transboundary, emerging, or zoonotic.
