🇺🇸🛂 Passport PSA for U.S. Dual Nationals: U.S. citizens are REQUIRED to enter and depart the United States on a U.S. passport.  This requirement applies equally to U.S. citizens, including children, who are dual nationals.  Dual national U.S. citizens may NOT use their foreign passport to apply for an electronic travel authorization (ESTA).  The Department of Homeland Security routinely denies or cancels ESTAs for dual national U.S. citizens.  If you are a U.S. citizen or national and live abroad and plan to travel to the United States, make sure you do so with a valid U.S. passport.  If your U.S. passport is expired or expires soon, renew before your trip!  Passports should generally be valid at least six months after the date of entry to a foreign country.

Requirements for U.S. citizens holding dual nationality:

✅You must enter and leave the United States on your U.S. passport.  You are not allowed to enter the United States on your foreign passport based on U.S. law.

✅ U.S. citizens are not eligible for a U.S. visa or ESTA.

✅ If your child is a citizen of the United States, he or she is not eligible for a U.S. visa.  This is true even if you have not taken steps to document your child as a U.S. citizen.  If you want to enter or leave the United States with your U.S. citizen child, you must obtain a U.S. passport for the child.

✅ As a U.S. citizen, you are obligated to comply with U.S. tax laws.  You may want to consult a tax advisor experienced in filing taxes for dual nationals.

The U.S. welcomes the decision by interim President Delcy Rodriguez and Venezuela to withdraw from the ICC and the new Venezuelan government's partnership on American-led efforts to dismantle the corrupt and worthless ICC.

The so-called court has been "investigating" Nicolas Maduro since 2018 with no result. The ICC has instead wasted its resources on investigating and charging persons from countries that have competent, independent judicial systems and which never submitted to the jurisdiction of the court. This is blatant overreach, political bias and selective enforcement. The ICC is neither credible, independent, nor legitimate.

Thanks to President Trump's leadership and the efforts of brave American service members, Maduro is now facing justice in U.S. court for crimes he has committed.

It is time to dismantle the ICC.

The U.S. calls on all members of the ICC to withdraw from the Rome Statute.

The Visa Waiver Program allows qualified Austrian nationals to go to the United States for up to 90 days without a visa. It’s important to know what you can and CANNOT do an on ESTA.

Activities allowed with ESTA (for 90 days or less):
🔄 Transiting through the United States
🏖️ Tourism
👨‍🍳 Enrollment in a short recreational course, not for credit toward a degree (for example, a two-day cooking class while on vacation)
💼 Business meetings
🎤 Attending a conference
Activities that require a visa:
🎓 Studying for credit
👷 Employment
🎥 Work as foreign press, radio, film, journalists, or other information media
📅 Stays longer than 90 days
Apply early for your ESTA to avoid any unexpected delays.

Worldwide Caution: Due to heightened tensions in the Middle East, the security environment remains complex with the potential for unforeseen escalation.

Americans currently in the Middle East should exercise caution and heightened vigilance and should be prepared for flight cancellations, periodic airspace closures, and potential travel disruptions. Some airlines in the region have postponed resumption of earlier flight schedules; others have cancelled some routes.

U.S. diplomatic facilities, including outside the Middle East, have been targeted. Iran and groups supportive of Iran may target other U.S. interests overseas or at locations associated with the United States and Americans throughout the world, including U.S. businesses and other institutions.

Americans outside the Middle East should reconsider travel to and through the region. Americans traveling in or through the region should check with their air carriers to make sure their flights are still scheduled. Contact your airline directly for flight change details if your flight is affected.

The ICC is constantly seeking to aggrandize its own power beyond its mandate. As @USUN makes clear, these perverse attempts to encroach on the sovereignty of independent nations must be defeated. So long as this decades-old concern remains unaddressed, the U.S. will act resolutely to protect our interests and calls on others to join us in the fight to defend national sovereignty.

It is constantly seeking to aggrandize its own power, falsely asserting so-called jurisdiction beyond its mandate, including over nations who never consented to its authority.
