U.S. Mission to the UN

Helping keep Americans safe and the U.S. prosperous through our work at the United Nations. Terms of use:

[Juan Pablo Segura @WHAAsstSecty]

Voting in favor of the Cuban regime’s resolution supports state-sponsored human trafficking, corruption, and lavish lifestyles for the dictatorship’s elite.

[U.S. Mission to the UN @USUN]

President Trump admires and cares about both Kosovo and Serbia and wants peace, stability, and prosperity.

Normalizing relations between the two countries is the only durable path forward.

Our position on UNMIK has not changed. The mission has outlived its purpose, and the Security Council should close it. @USUNDeputy

[U.S. Mission to the UN @USUN]

The Central African Republic continues to make progress toward durable peace with MINUSCA's support.

We welcome the mission's steps toward transition and call on CAR authorities to lead on security sector reform.

We encourage CAR and MINUSCA to keep working together on timely transition plans.

Static missions should not become the status quo. @AmbUNReform

[Ambassador Mike Waltz @USAmbUN]

Luis Manuel Otero Alcántara, a former political prisoner from Cuba, told me that hearing America speak up for his freedom while behind bars gave him hope.

Today, his voice was heard at the UN. I pray his courage and powerful testimony reach those still imprisoned in Cuba and give them that same hope.

[U.S. Mission to the UN @USUN]

Following today's Cuba Libre panel at the UN, @USAmbUN joined @FreedomHouse CEO @JamieFly at the Foreign Press Center to brief international media on U.S. priorities regarding Cuba and human rights at the UN.

[U.S. Mission to the UN @USUN]

Panelists including former political prisoners Luis Manuel Otero Alcántara and José Daniel Ferrer, and experts from @ArchivoCuba joined @USAmbUN today at the UN to shed light on the reality of living under Cuban regime repression.

The Cuban regime tries to blame its failures on others, but the reality is clear: corruption, human rights abuses, and repression are the real roots of Cuba's problems.

[U.S. Mission to the UN @USUN]

Today at 1:30 PM ET, @USAMbUN is bringing together human rights defenders, former political prisoners, and international partners at the UN to expose the Cuban regime's abuses and stand with the Cuban people. Tune in live:

Ambassador Waltz offers condolences and support to Ambassador Lopez of El Salvador for the Salvadoran soldiers, ambushed by the gangs in Haiti, who are now missing.

[Ambassador Mike Waltz @USAmbUN]

Heading to another Security Council meeting to address the violence in Haiti - we cannot allow more violence to reach America's shores.

[Ambassador Mike Waltz @USAmbUN]

Just came from voting on the next Secretary General of the United Nations. President Trump needs a partner who will help drive reform and broker peace deals.

[U.S. Mission to the UN @USUN]

It is time to restore peace and give power back to the Sudanese people.

Drone strikes and air attacks continue to kill and injure scores of civilians every day.

This must stop.

The United States will continue to push to expand the arms embargo to cut off external military support for the warring parties. @AmbUNReform

[U.S. Mission to the UN @USUN]

We welcome today's UN Security Council vote renewing the Haiti sanctions regime (travel ban, asset freeze, and arms embargo) and extending the Panel of Experts' mandate.

This vote sends another unwavering signal: the international community stands with the people of Haiti.

[U.S. Mission to the UN @USUN]

The Washington Accords are a historic opportunity for peace in eastern DRC and the Great Lakes region. The DRC and Rwanda must implement their obligations fully and without delay.

We urge the parties to uphold the ceasefire, halt drone strikes, and end inflammatory rhetoric. @AmbUNReform

[U.S. Mission to the UN @USUN]

We welcome Syria's ongoing progress on political, humanitarian, and security priorities.

Last month, President al-Sharaa joined a GCC+ meeting at UNGA on countering Iran's malign influence in the region. We look forward to building on this momentum. @USUNDeputy

[U.S. Mission to the UN @USUN]

A stronger Colombia means a safer hemisphere. Under President De la Espriella, Colombia is once again showing the world what determined, patriotic leadership looks like.

The United States is proud to stand with the Colombian people and their new government. We look forward to what we can accomplish together.

[Ambassador Mike Waltz @USAmbUN]

We will work closely with Security Council members and our international partners in the weeks ahead to lessen the horrific suffering and bring peace to the people of Sudan.

[Ambassador Mike Waltz @USAmbUN]

President Trump doesn't take bad deals. He is going to end the Iranian regime's pursuit of a nuclear weapon.

[U.S. Mission to the UN @USUN]

President Trump has been clear: the killing must stop. That is why the United States continues to mediate trilateral talks with Ukraine and Russia.

We will play whatever constructive role we can to end this senseless war, and we expect the same of Ukraine and Russia.
