For airline investors, the story is a reminder that periods of market weakness can create opportunities, and that strategic assets like EasyJet's airport slots and network may be worth more than current valuations suggest.

Airlines, cruise operators, and travel-adjacent companies are navigating a market where consumers are making one thing clear: they’ll pay more, adjust their plans, and blend work with leisure before giving up travel altogether.
That’s according to CEO Frank @bulldogholmes, who explains in his latest blog post that despite higher fuel costs and hotel rates, demand for travel remains strong.
In real terms, the consumer price index (CPI) for airline fares actually fell 3.5% from 2019 to 2025.
At the same time, low-cost carriers like Breeze, Frontier, and JetBlue are expanding aggressively in markets vacated by Spirit Airlines, helping keep pricing competitive even as demand rises.
