You’re attacking a man who left both his legs on the battlefield because he said something that shouldn’t even be controversial: a deployment isn’t supposed to be comfortable or easy.

Telling Joey to “go live on a ship”? Fuck off. Go live on an outpost or a COP somewhere and then come back and lecture everyone about living conditions.

You can tell the FOBbits and Camp Cupcake deployment crowd from the ones who actually lived it by who’s defending sailors crying to their moms and dads because a bathroom on the ship isn’t working.

My mom , with 13 kids had a round metal tub to bath us in. Bath 3 kids, empty refill and bath 3 more repeat . We also slept 3 to a bed. Never had my own bed till I left home at 19 in 1972. People today have no idea how great they have it.
