Real discipline is remembering what’s important. On your best days you’re committed to your sport. On your good days you’re committed to your teammates. On your worst days you must remain committed to yourself/your commitment. It’s not easy, but then again, discipline rarely is!
One of the biggest weaknesses in high school & college athletes is their diet. If you want to gain weight & build muscle, you better start eating intentionally. Food is fuel. You can’t eat like a bird if you want to play like a bull! Training & rest is key, but nutrition is king!
Happy Holidays from our Pack to yours. Have a wonderful holiday season.

Coaching is a calling. It’s endless hours & dedication. It’s often thankless/solitary, but it’s still a calling. People want to walk in off the street & “try coaching”. Good luck! You can try sushi or crawfish. But you can’t try coaching. Coaching is something you live, not try!
It was a fun match to watch. Nice job, Huskies.
Shout out to the players that make things happen, but play positions that don’t stat well. I’m looking at you, Sierra! She had some amazing plays tonight!
Husky Highlight: @USMHuskyVball 3, UMass Boston 0 ... USM defeats the Beacons for the first time since 2017. @connorblake2036 on the call! #GoHuskies#LeadThePack
GREATNESS HAPPENS IN PRACTICE
"You don't show up on game days and expect to be great. Greatness happens in practice. You have to expect things of yourself before you can do them."
~ Michael Jordan
Your coaches are watching you every day. This off-season will tell them a lot about who’s committed to improving/growing/working hard & who’s only interested when it’s convenient for them. There’re no secrets. You can & will only be great at what you’re willing to sacrifice for!
As part of a team you have to realize that sometimes you’ll be on the bench. When that happens you have 2 options: you can either sit & wait your turn or you can be active & engaged in helping your TEAM win. You can encourage others or pout & sulk. There’s really only one option!
@BatesSports@USMHuskyVball@JeffMannix Yes, Mr Mannix…Soph is our eldest. Appreciate your efforts tonight - especially in getting Alizia’s name said correctly! And of course, hearing the name of @soph__lindsay never gets old.
Let’s go @usmhuskies!

Talking, high fives, fist bumps, sprinting to help your teammate off the floor, pointing to them after a good pass, positive involvement from the bench. This is what great programs are built on! Uplift teammates & be an energy giver to your team! It equals TEAM & PROGRAM success!
