We were delighted to welcome @TorstenBell MP, Minister for Pensions, to our headquarters at the Royal Liver Building.
The Minister was hosted by Group CEO Carol Young and our Chair, Dame Kate Barker, during what was his first visit to USS since taking on his new brief.
Pleasure to visit @USSpensions (the UK’s biggest private sector pension scheme) in a ludicrously lovely Liverpool today. Only total cynics think it’s not always like this in Merseyside
It was a valuable opportunity to showcase the work we do to support our members and share insights on the policy issues that matter most to us. Torsten also met members of our award-winning Pensions Operations team.
Our penultimate blog is now live in the General Election hub, First 100 Days of Government: Helping Bridge the Pensions and Growth Gap, by PLSA Board Member, Carol Young. Click the link to read the full blog and explore our General Election blog series.

We welcome the opportunity to join a taskforce that will advise the Shadow Chancellor Rachel Reeves MP and Shadow Energy Security & Net Zero Secretary Ed Miliband MP on ways to maximise private capital support for a potential future Labour Government’s National Wealth Fund.

We have set an ambition for our investments to be Net Zero by 2050 if not before, but this ultimately has to be a global effort.

Opinion: With the #USS on the up, we need to try to flatten the roller coaster: the pension scheme’s healthy reported surplus could allow us to put benefits and contribution rates on a more stable long-term footing, says Carol Young https://t.co/JU4Sejsh3Z
