How does fire alter streamflow 🔥💧? We are exploring this question for the Grizzly Creek Fire in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. Our first step in data collection was installing measuring devices that will help us monitor streamflow and precipitation.
Snowpack on April 1 is usually a good predictor of total runoff. Not so this year. ~100% of normal snowpack this year turned into ~50% of runoff in the Colorado River Basin. #ClimateChange
