@merchant47 The Scottish Greens have worked with the SNP for years. They've pushed the SNP into implementing greener strategies. That is positive. The SNP are using this co-operation agreement to strengthen an argument for independence - a majority gov to provide an independence ref mandate.

What is really upsetting is that this could be spent on the NHS. This could be spent on covid-recovery. This could be spent on renewable energy. This could be spent on Police Scotland. The SNP can tackle a climate emergency by listening to the Greens in opposition.

@merchant47 That being said, we need to see action. Promoting green MSPs into government doesn't actually solve any problems. Over £200k spent on these promotions - could that not have been spent on green energy? The SNP can implement Green party strategies without their involvement in gov.

People should understand that ministerial positions cost around £30k more than the regular MSP salary. I hope people are aware of this when considering the work ethic and effort put into the job by these new ministers.

It's odd that nationalists argue for independence on the basis we're ruled by a "party we didn't vote for". This is especially odd considering the Scottish Greens have now entered government despite not being voted in.

Furthermore, two additional ministerial positions created here. Have two SNP ministers been demoted to regular backbench roles? Otherwise, additional taxpayer money is bring spent on this government.
