“Sometimes we place expectations on people who showed us no history of being able to fulfill those expectations. And then we’re frustrated with them for being who they never were” Good morning
Too often in our health system, lives are lost not for lack of treatment, but for lack of timely help. For a mother in labor, a child with severe malaria, or an accident victim on a rural road, their survival often comes down to one thing: a reliable way to reach a health facility. This gap in transportation has long been a silent crisis undermining community health.
This week in Kempungu, Mbarara, we took a crucial step toward closing it.
Together with local leaders, clergy, and health workers, we handed over a fully equipped ambulance to the RAHU Clinic. This means families will now have the assurance that when seconds count, hope is on the way.
But an ambulance is only one piece of the solution. To truly transform health outcomes, we must continue investing in youth-friendly services, fully equip all health facilities, and empower communities to be active partners in their health and well-being.

As the conversation about loneliness goes on, lets talk about the men, who are raised to believe that emotions are a weakness. That vulnerability is a threat to masculinity. And so many young men grow up feeling disconnected not just from others, but even from themselves.
But the truth is: loneliness can be considered a public health issue. According to a recent WHO study, lacking social connection can be as harmful as smoking 15 cigarettes a day. And for men, the risk is often hidden in plain sight.
In the UK, it was reported that nearly one in five men say they have no close friends. In the U.S., the “friendship recession” has hit men the hardest, with male friendships declining sharply over the last 30 years. And here in Africa, while the data may be less visible, the signs are everywhere in the rise of youth violence, substance abuse, and untreated mental illness.
We need to change the script and create a culture where connection is not a threat to masculinity but a part of it. Where men can thrive through shared experience. Where it’s okay to say, “I’m not okay.”

There have been moments in my journey where I’ve felt completely overwhelmed, by the demands of work, the uncertainty of direction, or the weight of expectations. I’ve questioned my path, doubted my abilities, and faced challenges that felt far bigger than me. But one thing has always carried me through: the vision I hold close. A vision to create change, to empower others, and to build something greater than myself.
I’ve learned that purpose doesn’t always feel clear, and progress doesn’t always feel loud, but resilience grows quietly in the background. Every time I fell, it wasn’t just the dream that picked me back up, it was the belief that the impact we’re meant to make is too important to give up on.
So if you’re in a season of doubt or difficulty, I want you to know this, it's okay to feel lost.
What matters is that you don’t lose vision. Keep showing up, even when it’s hard. You are growing, you are becoming, and your purpose still matters.
