> Tottenham don't build winning projects; they just open wide for mid-table sides like Brentford & Manchester United.
> Manchester United & Tottenham are about to have a mid-off for the battle for 17th place.
> On a positive note; they both kept a cleansheet 💪
Post-match thoughts from the #MUFC vs Hull City game:
We are still some levels away from competing for the league. I know a lot of people will blame this entirely on Carrick and his tactics, but when you look at our squad, we still have too many players who simply aren't good enough.
Dorgu is a full-back. If he's not ready to play there, he should be on the bench or sold. He should never be playing as a winger for #MUFC.
We need a proper striker. Zirkzee isn't close to being good enough, and the manager clearly doesn't trust him enough to start even when Sesko is unavailable.
Our full-backs are also one of our biggest weaknesses. We currently don't have a world-class full-back who can consistently contribute at both ends. Look at PSG, Bayern and Barcelona their full-backs are crucial to their creativity, especially when the midfield isn't providing enough.
Heaven and Maguire are nowhere near the level of a defensive pairing that should be starting for a team serious about winning the league. If De Ligt and Martínez aren't fit enough, we need to go into the market for an experienced centre-back.
The Tielemans-Santos midfield partnership clearly isn't working either. Carrick needs to find solutions, and we need Carlos Baleba back as soon as possible.
Rashford looked like our best attacker today and has earned a starting spot. He should be starting the next game.
Carrick has a lot of work to do. The performances lately haven't been encouraging, and the results are reflecting that. He needs to improve quickly or the pressure will keep mounting.
There's still a week left in the transfer window. INEOS need to do better and address the obvious holes in this squad.
Players, manager and staff need to use this defeat as motivation to improve from the next game against Ipswich.
There's no time to feel sorry for ourselves. We need to get better. 🔴
