UTMB Police is grilling hamburgers for national hamburger day at the Health education center. Come by for a fresh hamburger and to talk about safety and campus security with our team.
It is #nationalpoliceweek and we honor our law enforcement professionals who protect and serve the UTMB campus community every day. Since 1923, 53 campus law enforcement officers have been killed in the line of duty, a stark reminder that dangers do not stop at campus borders.
UTMB Police also seeks public feedback on accreditation review from the International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators, IACLEA.

Smell of gas around UTMB Main campus: A noticeable smell of natural gas around UTMB Main campus has been investigated by EHS and determined to come from an off campus source and does not pose an immediate danger to anyone on campus. However, the odor may remain for several hours.

Advisory, do not approach wildlife! Last night, an employee was injured while trying to photograph some wildlife, specifically racoons, while the raccoons were foraging through trash near the Medical Library. Medical treatment was necessary. Be advised that these animals and others, such as coyotes are found on the island and may be hazardous, especially at night. Avoid them and report their location to UTMB Police or UTMB Facilities to avoid injury.
