Improving cardiovascular health is a shared responsibility that extends beyond any one specialty. It was inspiring to see more than 280 healthcare professionals come together for the second annual Cardiovascular Symposium. Through our partnership with the American Heart Association (@American_Heart), attendees explored practical, evidence-based approaches to managing cardiovascular conditions and strengthening patient care. Bringing providers together to learn from one another is how we build healthier communities and improve outcomes for the patients we serve.

What’s good for the heart is good for the brain,” Dr. Hani Jneid (@docHJ), director of the Sealy Heart & Vascular Institute and vice president of Cardiovascular Operations at UTMB (@utmbcardiology), told the crowd at the #TexasBrainEconomy Summit during his keynote, “Brain-Heart Connection,” on Tuesday. “The same factors that protect cardiovascular health also help preserve cognitive function and reduce the risk of dementia.”
Jneid added that nearly 45 percent of dementia cases are attributable to modifiable risk factors. “Prevention is not only possible—it is one of the most powerful tools we have,” he said.
Proud to see our Chair, Dr. Hani Jneid @docHJ, at the #TexasBrainEconomySummit, discussing the brain-heart connection and the vital link between cardiovascular and brain health.
The first half of Day 1 #TexasBrainEconomySummit explored a powerful question: How do we build a future where people can thrive across the entire lifespan?
From early brain development to healthy aging, discussions highlighted why brain health is fundamental to human flourishing.
