The same precision and preparation Dr. Harold Pine brings to patient care have also helped him reach new heights in mountaineering.

Texas is the growth engine of the Western world.
With 32 million people, Texas generates nearly $2.9 trillion in GDP. Elon @elonmusk ‘s new Terafab project in Grimes County is projected to add another $1 trillion to the Texas economy over the next decade.
At current pace, Texas will surpass France 🇫🇷 in GDP by 2031.
For comparison: France has 66 million citizens and a GDP of roughly $3.3 trillion. Yet Texas GDP per capita is nearly twice that of France.
President Macron and his government should take a hard look at why a single U.S. state is creating wealth at this scale.
This piece from the Economist gets the gist right but the dynamism and understanding of the sheer scale of what’s happening is missed.

Being named Business Person of the Year in a community as historic, resilient, and forward-looking as Galveston is deeply meaningful to me.

Part 2 of the World Kidney Event in Greifswald:
Amazing talks given by Prof. @JochenReiser, Prof. Catherine Meyer-Schwesinger, Prof. Matthias Heckmann, Minister Dr. Wolfgang Blank. Very emotional presentations were given by Prof. Sylvia Stracke and her patient Janina Tesch as well as by Uwe Korst.
I would also like to express my sincere gratitude to all supporters, including the funders and everyone who helped with the organization. My special thanks go to my wonderful ladies of Lions Baltic, Lisa Schudrowicz, Tim Endlich at @NIPOKA_Podocyte, my fantastic research group team, Prof. Karlhans Endlich, the patients and their families, and all the guests who attended.
It was amazing that Georg Günther, member of the German parliament, joined as well as the member of the state parliament Christine Klingohr @sozial_mv, Minister Christian Pegel, who supported this event since 2018. 🙏

Few impressions: I have just returned from a wonderful Kidney Health Initiative meeting in Washington, D.C., filled with inspiring conversations, the pleasure of reconnecting with many friends and colleagues, and excellent discussions with Dr. Alessia Fornoni, Dr. Amit Sharma from @Official_VeraTx, Dr. Bhupinder Singh, from @Renibusinc, Dr. Roy-Chaudhury @proychaudhuryMD and so many others.
I was particularly impressed by the strong engagement of patients and patient representatives. Their willingness to support the scientists — as well as pharmaceutical partners — in clinical studies is truly invaluable. I would very much like to see a similar level of patient engagement in Germany, especially to help ensure that the voices of patients and affected individuals are heard more clearly in policy discussions.
It also became very clear that we urgently need additional endpoints for chronic kidney disease — including biomarkers or tools such as @NIPOKA_Podocyte PEMP — and that we need to encourage and support the FDA in moving forward with us on this path.
In just two weeks, I will be traveling back to the U.S. for two outstanding meetings at the TMC in Houston, organized by Vineet Gupta, @gupta__vineet, @JochenReiser and Amit Sharma.
I am very much looking forward to these amazing events and presenting PEMP (@NIPOKA_Podocyte ) as well as our new transfection method ExoNephX developed at Universitätsmedizin Greifswald! 🚀
Thank you for having me!🙏
Congrats Dr. Ajay Israni, Chief of Nephrology @utmbhealth !
