UTRGV was awarded an $18.8M NIH grant to combat cancer in the Rio Grande Valley, focusing on Hispanic health challenges. The Rio Grande Valley has some of the highest cancer rates in the world and this grant will help researchers learn more about why that is and brings us all one step closer to improving prevention, treatment and ultimately a cure.
