These women 🙌🏼 I’m the luckiest to have them as mentors, colleagues, friends. They’ve shaped me into the surgeon I am- they’ve taught me how to be confident, poised, kind, considerate. They’ve shown me what leadership is. I’m going to miss them.
Our women in surgery group organized a champagne toast for our graduating female chiefs! We are so thankful for their mentorship and friendship along this journey
On #InternationalWomensDay we hope you realize you can be anything you want to be. And if what you want is to be a bad ass, caring surgeon.... then welcome to the family #utsouthwestisbest#IWD2020
We take charge and we work hard. We operate together, work on game changing research, run our services, and love our patients. #IWD2020#InternationalWomensDay
It’s International Women’s Day! As the largest surgery residency in the country we are proud to be >60% women. We are kick ass surgeons, amazing doctors, and real true friends. (Thread) #IWD2020#InternationalWomensDay

Sorry everyone! Many thanks to @callie_mt for pointing out my incorrect and unfair use of the term girls (was only thinking about twitter characters). I will be more thoughtful in the future!
No big deal we just matched 11/13 girls to our incoming intern class and starting July 2019 more than 70% of our residency of >50 people will be women #girlpower#ILookLikeASurgeon@WomenSurgeons
