People will swear up and down that clutch is a thing, and then when they put together a list of clutch players it’s just a list of all time greats. What does a clutch Wayne Gretzky even look like? They aren’t clutch. They are just good. Period.
THE TOP-10 MOST CLUTCH ATHLETES IN SPORTS HISTORY:
1: Tom Brady 2: Michael Jordan 3: Derek Jeter 4: Patrick Mahomes 5: Reggie Jackson 6: Joe Montana 7: Stephen Curry 8: David Ortiz 9: Wayne Gretzky 10: Mariano Rivera
What would you change…?
@redsoxstats At this point, the C becomes the backup. Narvaez adjusts too late. He’s now chasing the ball, momentum taking him away from home. Whitlock makes the correct call that it will be faster for him to rotate to home.
Blame Pie:
1/3 Roman
1/3 Durbin
1/3 Narvaez
0/3 Whitlock
@redsoxstats Cora is wrong.
Roman knows he can’t get the out at home. The play then becomes get the runner at 3B. Durbin is acting as cut. He over rotates. Roman throws too far behind him. Durbin shows a concerning lack of athleticism for a 3B. Now the ball is by him and way off line.

There’s at least the Herbert logic
What was the logic from the 2 Allen voters? It can’t just be the WRs because Maye’s WRs aren’t world beaters either
Didn’t win division, worse in stats, great OL and run game.
Genuinely how does one vote for Allen over Maye/Staff this year?
Idk who needs to hear this (wait yes I do - Red Sox fans), but the real player the Red Sox traded Devers to make room for is locked up until 2034, had a 140 wRC+, and was a gold glove caliber fielder. His name is Roman Anthony and the revisionist history needs to stop.
@chrisfallica@Ivan_Maisel You got to lay to rest the ND hate. There is a very good chance the author himself canceled the event. Why would he want to go to an event on a campus that people believe he was part of a conspiracy against them? Let’s be reasonable here. The event couldn’t happen
@AndyStaples There very obviously was a conspiracy. There really is no denying that. What exactly motivated the conspiracy can be debated, but there’s no doubt the committee curated a fraudulent final ranking that defies any explanation.
@AmericaRus2024@AriWasserman They should have been selected. They don’t have to prove that to anyone, and they definitely don’t need to prove it enough to pump up ESPNs ratings even more after they used and abused them all year
@AmericaRus2024@AriWasserman The most generous read of the committee is that they rigged the rankings all year for TV ratings. That’s the most generous possible explanation. Why would Notre Dame agree to continue to put money in ESPN’s pockets by playing in a meaningless bowl game?
If you don’t recognize what the committee just did as corrupt and far worse than not honoring head to head, then you are not a serious person. If your initial reaction is that “Notre Dame should join a conference”, and not “the committee is corrupt”, you are not a serious person.
@dannykanell Very key to his and all Miami fans’ argument is that Miami and Notre Dame are identical metrically. In fact, Notre Dame has unanimous support from the metrics. As such, if you go with head to head over literally all, you might as well be claiming SMU should be ranked over Miami
The argument for Miami over Notre Dame is singular - Miami won the head to head.
Every single other relevant data point - every single one - favors ND.
If you rank Miami ahead of ND b/c of h2h, and only h2h, you also have to rank SMU and Louisville over Miami.
Which is dumb.
@AlexDonno The only common opponent Miami had a better game against is NC St.
It makes sense why people want h2h to matter above all else. But ND beats Miami in everything included in “all else”. If h2h is > 50% of consideration, then Miami should be ranked above. Otherwise, ND should be
@JoshPateCFB Notre Dame’s resume is unequivocally better than Miami’s. You can’t find a single holistic metric or ratings system that says Miami is better. Its unanimous. That is unequivocal. It’s not the majority of. It’s not the vast majority of. It’s every single. It’s a blowout.
