COMPETITIVE GAMING SAVED MY LIFE.
Read Below:
When I was struggling in high school in my teens, I had a dull and depressing mindset. Meanwhile, I had just met the offline competitive fighting game community with the release of SF4. It was extremely obvious that the time...
FGC is eating good with all these new games coming out.
My advice to everyone new/old is to make friends along the way. Play at offline locals/tournaments if you can.
Games come and go much faster if you only play them online. Fighting games can be a very lonely journey or a constant gathering of great people around the world.
Have fun everyone 👊
Please consider helping our friend Max's family out with funeral costs and etc.
Even if you cannot donate, consider rt'ing to boost please.
Thank you.

Whole lotta love went into this event, so please show these folks some love.
Winners in the FGC are already winning long before the bracket ever starts. Let's discuss winning in the FGC and how it starts long before you sit down for your first match in tournament. (1/5)
A few months ago I did a super deep dive into Neutral and Footsies in SF6, examining a match between Tokido and Blaz from Evo France. I broke it down into incredibly ridiculous detail. I was really happy with how it went, and I think it was really eye-opening for a lot of newer players, not realizing just the sheer amount of decision making that happens in even fractions of a second.
There’s also a lot of really good philosophy in the video as well. I talk about tension in Fighting Games akin to a rubber band being stretched. My favorite quote from myself in the video was, “Just because you didn’t do everything right doesn’t meant you did anything wrong.”
Please check it out if you can, especially if you don’t understand what is actually happening in high-level Footsies and Neutral.

The FGC has a lot of hidden knowledge. The deeper you go, the more you realize how much of it was always there. Let's explore some fighting game truths many players learn too late. (1/5)
Venue internet got you down?
Try Offline Mode for Startgg by @jmlee337! This offline-first client lets you see and report matches offline, then syncs online once internet is back.
You can even grant per-pool access to report matches from other browsers on your local network!
@big_mikesgaming It means a lot to see this community lifting each other up. Remember to pay that feeling forward and support someone else on their path. 😀
Thanks for the kind words, man. Enjoy the journey and keep at it. 💪
@big_mikesgaming I’m really glad that image found its way to you when you needed it.
Apologies for the three month delay on the reply. I try to keep my head out of the feed and focused on the work, so I missed this. But honestly, your message is a great reminder of why I do this.
@big_mikesgaming You don’t have to be the best to deserve a healthy relationship with the games you love. Progress is messy, and some days are just about showing up and enjoying the process. That mindset is exactly what keeps you in the game for the long haul while everyone else burns out.
