United Way of Charles County salutes all Veterans for their courageous service and dedication to our great nation. This Veterans Day, we want to acknowledge two special service members. Captain Michael Farar and Sgt. 1st Class David Bellis.
Sgt. 1st Class Bellis is the father of our Executive Director, Mike. Sgt. 1st Class Bellis served in the Vietnam War and later transitioned to the Army National Guard. He retired in 2000 after 27 years of service in the Armed Forces. Sgt. 1st Class Bellis passed away in 2017.

Today, @UWCharlesCounty delivered 200 “Boost Boxes” to local seniors in subsidized housing. These boxes contained laundry detergent, soap, sanitizer, masks, toilet paper, paper towels, and much more. The goal is to assist those living on fixed incomes by “boosting” their income.
