That is still free labor. And no, roads do not provide value to people who are literally detained. The irony is poetic.

@CafesinIVA @Grimezsz @whyarethis We use things like the cash bail system, stop-and-frisk policies, and “stand your ground” rulings to TARGET certain groups WITHOUT naming them. And the end result is the same: same amount of people in our prisons.

They used a law that said nothing about poets in order to TARGET poets.

@CafesinIVA @Grimezsz @whyarethis The money anyone makes “for the prison” has no centralized data on it, is definitely much higher than reported, and is used to fund the very system that exploits them.

@CafesinIVA @Grimezsz @whyarethis You’re leaving out “public works projects” and agricultural work. In the state I live in, only 80 prisoners are employed by PIECP. The cost of “barely living” is deducted from their wage. vast majority of prisoners make pennies. And their living conditions are horrible.

Or did he kill each and every one of those people with his own bare hands? Again, this is the issue we run into when we attribute everything to one man
