@benFsinger@integrity_to What do you propose my 92-year-old mother, with a broken hip, should do? I’m sorry that you think that disabilities are a “cudgel” and that you think you speak for everyone when you say the city doesn’t want cars. How do you think food is delivered to your grocery stores?
@mario4thenorth@rupasubramanya I would like to know WHO is actually going to use this service? Federal bureaucrats? Why don’t they use that money to invest in better local transit, like improving GO train service in the GTHA? Pierre is “on track” to recognize another boondoggle.
@brianlilley Retired teacher here. I had to get out after learning I could no longer refer to my students as “boys” and “girls.” Yes, this includes elementary students as young as 3.
@integrity_to Let’s remember that all First Nations were illiterate societies. They had no written language. So this park’s name is a completely made-up word.
@ezralevant Ezra, I wondered when they first proposed high-speed rail for the Windsor-Quebec corridor, how many people this would actually help. Why don’t they use that money to improve the commuter trains around the GTA and other urban centres?
It’s scandalous and disheartening that Toronto City Council refers to legal challenges against its decisions on homeless shelters as a “nuisance.” Like the constituents are flies to be flicked away.
@jamiljivani The problem with any government-run program is that it is inefficient and guaranteed to be a boondoggle. Just check the “morning meal” program with the TDSB. It’s a money pit because they insist on giving it out to every kid, even though only a small percentage need it.
@integrity_to Is it possible that any action can be delayed until after the next election? And then a more sensible councillor can be elected and a better solution implemented? Since the city takes so long to get anything done, there might be some hope 🤞🏻
@joe_warmington@MarkJCarney The whole situation is profoundly sad and upsetting. It illustrates the inflexibility and cruelty of bureaucracy. It’s very scary.
@integrity_to FYI, I went to the one in Etobicoke on Saturday and it was a lot of BS self-promotion from Chow and Carrel, and the tables were stacked with uninformed naïfs. Make sure you stand up for fiscal responsibility and accountability at City Hall. Also, take the online survey.
@integrity_to@harrisonlowman Step 1: find and promote common-sense candidates for each ward.
Step 2: host all-candidates meetings in each ward so incumbents have to defend their pathetic records.
