UPDATE TO MEMBERS
Good afternoon distinguished NARDITES.
The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) and the Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) paid a visit to Prof. Fatima Kyari, Registrar/CEO of the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria earlier today.
The delegation was led by the First Vice President of the Nigerian Medical Association, Dr. Benjamin O. Olowojebutu.
The visit sought to clarify the salary issues of 57 out of over 2,000 House Officers across FMCs and FTHs across the country.
A detailed conversation revealed that the MDCN has engaged all relevant stakeholders including the OAGF/IPPIS and various Banks with a view to solving this.
This is evidenced by the January Salary payment to those who previously had not started receiving salary.
All 57 House Officers were looked at on a case by case basis, the issues with their payment and the progress made thus far noted. They will soon smile.
We shall continue to engage all relevant stakeholders including the OAGF/IPPIS to ensure that the arrears and salary delays are sorted out.
The NMA and NARD wish to appreciate all the efforts put in by MDCN so as to resolve this matter and appeal to House Officers involved to continue to trust the process. It will be resolved.
The day ended with an interaction between the NMA/NARD and the HOs and progress made discussed.

UPDATE ON HOUSE OFFICERS SALARY
Earlier today, a crucial meeting was held at the Nigerian Medical Association @nationalnma Secretariat to address the pressing issue of unpaid House Officers’ salaries.
It has been 5 days since the abduction of our colleague, Dr. Abu Babatunde, a House Officer at Edo State University Teaching Hospital. He was kidnapped alongside his brother, who was tragically killed within this period.
We urgently call on all relevant government and security
