Not so fun fact: Bees canโt vote! But if youโre a US citizen and over 18, you can!!
Vote with the bees and the trees and the seas in mind๐๐ฟ๐
Winterizing the hives involves installing mouse guards, wrapping the bee boxes with insulation and adding pine chips to control moisture and temperature. ๐๐ฏโ๏ธ In addition to Hoekstra, we had @UBuffalo and @buffalostate students helping out.
Beekeepers led by @UBBiology's David Hoekstra were out prepping hives for winter on @UBuffalo's North Campus this week! ๐๐ฏโ๏ธ Learn about the @UbeesB program: https://t.co/wHqAnnOdS4 #bees
While the campus is a bit quieter these days in hybrid mode, our #UBuffalo Bees are making up for it with an awesome amount of activity. Thanks @UBCAS Prof David Hoekstra for continuing the research and harvesting!

Hi! Iโm the one behind the bee tweets, and co-founder of UB Bees. I have graduated, and I am so sad to go but happy to leave the program (& this Twitter) in good hands. Plz continue to show support and keep UB Bees thriving for years to come. I appreciate you all -๐Alex
Happy #WorldBeeDay from Grand Canyon National Park. Much of our food supply depends upon the work & survival of bees that pollinate our crops. Help your local bees by growing native plants in your yard or garden. Video shows bee leaving a pink cactus flower, and cacti in bloom.
#EarthWeek2020 I challenge everyone who posted about earth day online to go pick up a bag of trash outside and reply to this tweet with a picture of it! (plz wear gloves and be safe). It only took me 15 minutes!
Feeling proud to be in the UB community! Check out UB's new 10 in 10 climate action plan. This is real SYSTEMIC change that will have huge impact #UBClimateAction
