Volcanologists are closely monitoring Mount Spurr in Alaska as a series of small, shallow volcanic earthquakes continue beneath the volcano, indicating ongoing activity. Overflight video from Feb 7, 2025, shows small lake nestled in snowy crater.

Large glacial flood in Southern Iceland causing the ring road towards Vik to be damaged & closed. Source is underneath Myrdalajokull glacier best known for the #Katla#volcano. No sign of potential #eruption but roads and tourist attractions in the area closed as a precaution.
