Dr Nicholas Msheliza, Chairman of Adamawa ADC Primary Electoral Committee: Pastor Babachir Lawal personally directed the rigging of ADC presidential primary election for his preferred candidate, presided over a scam to achieve his criminal intent, according to a @vanguardngrnews
report.
The chairman of the African Democratic Congress ADC electoral committee for Adamawa State, Dr Nicholas Msheliza, has turned the tables on former Secretary to the Government of the Federation SGF, Babachir Lawal, accusing him of personally directing the rigging of last month's ADC presidential primary in his home state — and threatening to release documentary evidence to back the claim.
This is coming days after Lawal had alleged that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar rigged his way into becoming the Presidential Candidate of the ADC.
In a strongly-worded press statement made available to Vanguard on Wednesday, Msheliza, who also served as the Returning Officer for the Adamawa primaries, said it was Lawal who telephoned him after results were compiled and ordered him to reverse the outcome in Hong Local Government Area — Lawal's own hometown — to favour his preferred candidate, businessman Mohammed Hayatu-Deen, over former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
"When Babachir Lawal got wind of the results, he called and requested that I reverse the results to favour his candidate. I refused to carry out his criminal directive," Dr. Msheliza stated.

El-Rufai’s message to Nigerian youths is simple, direct, and urgent: if politics shapes everything around you, then staying away from politics is surrendering your future to people who may not care about you.
That is why his continued detention must worry every young Nigerian, whether you like him or not.
Malam Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai has always been a controversial figure, but one thing cannot be denied: he understands power, governance, institutions, public policy, and the importance of youth involvement in shaping society. His message to Nigerians in their late 20s and 30s carries truth. Politics decides the quality of your schools. Politics decides whether you get jobs. Politics decides the value of your salary. Politics decides whether your business survives. Politics decides whether your community is safe. Politics decides whether your passport has dignity. Politics decides whether your vote matters.
So when a leader who tells young people to get involved in politics is held in prolonged detention, the question becomes bigger than one man. It becomes a test of Nigeria’s democracy.
If the government has a case against El-Rufai, let it charge him openly before a competent court. Let evidence be presented. Let due process speak. But detention without transparent legal action only strengthens the fear that state power is being used to silence political voices.
President Tinubu must understand this: democracy is not protected by detaining opponents. It is protected by the rule of law.
No citizen should be kept in custody endlessly because those in power are uncomfortable with his politics. No democracy should normalise selective justice. No government should treat constitutional rights like a favour to be granted only to loyalists.
El-Rufai’s message to the youth is exactly why his release matters. Young Nigerians must learn that politics is not a dirty game to avoid. It is the arena where their destiny is negotiated. But what lesson is this government teaching them when political participation begins to look like a path to intimidation?
We demand fairness. We demand transparency. We demand due process. We demand the immediate release of Malam Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai, or his proper arraignment before a court of law.
Nigeria belongs to all citizens, not only those who praise the government.
And if politics forms everything, then justice must form the foundation of politics.
@channelstv Pastor Enoch Adeboye, who previously protested during the Goodluck Jonathan regime when insecurity was low, is now praying and pleading with Tinubu to take action. This is a clear case of hypocrisy at its peak.

BREAKING: ADC Rejects Hon. Justice Peter Lifu in Nafiu Bala Gombe Matter
The African Democratic Congress, ADC, has formally raised concerns over the handling of Suit No: FHC/ABJ/CS/1819/2025, involving Hon. Nafiu Bala Gombe v. African Democratic Congress & 4 Others.
The party has filed a petition against Hon. Justice John Tsoho, Chief Judge of the Federal High Court of Nigeria, and Hon. Justice Peter Lifu, Judge of the Federal High Court of Nigeria, over allegations of abuse of judicial power, disobedience to court orders, and manifest bias in the ongoing matter.
The ADC maintains that the integrity of the judicial process must be protected and insists that all parties in the case deserve fairness, neutrality, and strict adherence to the rule of law.
The party further rejects the continued involvement of Hon. Justice Peter Lifu in the matter, citing serious concerns over perceived bias and the need to preserve public confidence in the administration of justice.
If you are not one of the gullible and online mob that Babachir David Lawal is contingenting upon to spread lies and propaganda, then you should have known that Atiku is the only politician who has been voicing concerns regarding the kidnapping and killing of citizens across Nigeria by terrorists/Bandits
Christians, Muslims, Igbo, Hausa, Fulani, Yoruba, Tiv, etc have benefited from Atiku's scholarship
@UcheDec_@ADCVanguard_@atiku He has never done any of these things he always preaches about, upon all the money he stole from the government. He has never condemned the Islamic bandits and terrorists📌
Atiku is worse than Tinubu, nobody should waste their vote✍🏻
Atiku Abubakar @atiku has been sounding this for decades repeatedly.
If we really want a better indivisible and prosperous Nigeria then vote for Atiku Abubakar in 2027
I always thank God and find comfort in my heart, knowing the massive support H.E. Atiku Abubakar is receiving in the North. I believe we will perform strongly in the South.
If there must be a winner in the first round, it will definitely be Atiku Abubakar. A rerun would only catapult him to an even more decisive victory over his rival.

"Have you ever heard Atiku condemn any of the kidnappings or massive killings across the country?"
Former SGF Babachir Lawal questions Atiku Abubakar’s capacity to become Nigeria's president.
