NANS JCC ONDO AXIS MEDICAL OUTREACH 2026 CONCLUDES SUCCESSFULLY AS GRAND FINALE HOLDS AT RUFUS GIWA POLYTECHNIC, OWO
The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Joint Campus Council (JCC), Ondo Axis, through the Office of the Welfare Director, successfully concluded its three-day state-wide Medical Outreach 2026 with a remarkable grand finale held on Friday, 31st July, 2026, at the *Rufus Giwa Polytechnic (RUGIPO), Owo.
The final phase of the outreach brought together students from Rufus Giwa Polytechnic (RUGIPO), Achievers University, Owo, and Margaret Mosunmola College of Health Sciences and Technology, all of whom benefited from the free healthcare services provided as part of the Association's commitment to advancing student welfare across Ondo State.
Throughout the exercise, participants received comprehensive medical services, including HIV screening, Hepatitis B screening, Malaria testing, Eye screening, Blood Sugar testing, Blood Group determination, Genotype testing, as well as professional medical consultations and health education. The outreach further reinforced the importance of preventive healthcare, early diagnosis, and routine medical check-ups among students.
Addressing participants at the close of the programme, the Welfare Director of NANS JCC Ondo Axis, Comrade Kujenya Hammed Usman (OUSMAN), expressed profound appreciation to the medical professionals, volunteers, institutional authorities, partner organizations, and the leadership of the participating institutions for their unwavering support throughout the three-day exercise. He noted that the success of the outreach was a clear demonstration of what purposeful leadership, collaboration, and a shared commitment to student welfare can achieve.
The Welfare Director further reaffirmed the commitment of the NANS JCC Ondo Axis leadership to initiating programmes that directly improve the lives of students beyond advocacy alone. He emphasized that healthcare remains a critical pillar of student welfare and pledged that the Association would continue to champion initiatives that promote healthier, safer, and more productive campuses across the state.
The successful conclusion of the outreach marks a significant milestone for the administration, having extended free healthcare services to students across the three senatorial districts of Ondo State through strategic host institutions at the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), Adeyemi Federal University of Education (AFUED), Ondo, and Rufus Giwa Polytechnic (RUGIPO), Owo.
As the curtains draw on the *NANS JCC Ondo Axis Medical Outreach 2026*, the Association remains steadfast in its resolve to continue implementing impactful welfare programmes that positively affect the lives of Nigerian students.
