UfM Study Visit on International Trade and Investment Policy participants continued discussions with @UNCTAD at the Palais des Nations, going deeper into the architecture of investment governance.
From treaty modernization to #ISDS reform and investment facilitation, policy makers, private sector, and youth from across the #EuroMediterranean region explored the rules and frameworks that make investment work for sustainable development.
In Geneva, UfM Senior Economic Advisor, Marwa Farghali, opened yesterday the 2nd UfM Study Visit on International Trade and Investment Policy, organised in collaboration with @UNCTAD.
The visit brings together participants representing governments, the private sector and youth to discuss digital trade and e-commerce.
As digital trade reshapes economies across the Euro-Mediterranean region, strengthening e-commerce readiness and building the capacity to harness its potential are critical to advancing deeper regional integration.

The 3rd UfM Mediterranean Green Week, will bring together UfM Member States, institutional partners, civil society organisations, financial institutions, experts and the wider public to advance regional cooperation on the green transition and climate resilience in the Euro-Mediterranean region.
This year’s edition will focus on four connected priorities:
🟢climate action,
🟡energy transition,
🔵water resilience, and
🟠civil protection and disaster risk management.
It will be online from 30 June to 3 July 2026.

Happening today in Barcelona: Women Leading Change brings together universities and municipalities from Mediterranean countries including Morocco, Lebanon and Syria for training on gender-responsive recruitment, sexual harassment prevention, leadership and mentoring.
The UfM Secretariat welcomed yesterday a delegation from the EU-supported regional project Empowering Youth NEETs in the Southern Mediterranean Region (Y-NEET), led by the @ilo, @gencat and DG MENA @EU4MENAGulf.
The visit introduced participants to UfM’s work and reviewed lessons learned from their Barcelona study visits on Catalonia’s Youth Guarantee in action.
UfM Senior Officials are meeting today in Barcelona to discuss regional political issues, sectoral cooperation, the Pact for the Mediterranean and the UfM reform implementation and UfM governance.
The #Mediterranean is on the frontline of climate change, from droughts and wildfires to water stress and coastal erosion.
On #WorldEnvironmentDay and ahead of COP31 in Türkiye, the UfM is working to make the 5th Mediterranean Pavilion a reality: a shared space to amplify regional voices, solutions and cooperation.

Thank you @UNESCO_DG Director-General Khaled El-Enany for a productive meeting, which opened a new phase of reinforced cooperation between the UfM and @UNESCO for the people and peace in the Mediterranean.
We identified strong synergies between UNESCO’s global agenda and the UfM’s regional action, particularly in higher education, science, and cultural heritage, key drivers of resilience, recovery, and long-term stability, especially in contexts affected by crisis.
